From Moscow Elena Rybakina refused the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation award for winning the 2022 Wimbledon final, the athlete wants to donate to charity, Kazakh Federation vice-president Yuri Polsky told .
Rybakina on Saturday in the Wimbledon final was beaten by Ons Jaber of Tunisia with a score of 3:6, 6:2, 6:2. Rybakina changed his sports citizenship in 2018.
“We wanted to encourage Elena financially, but she refused, moreover, she wants to donate part of the prize money to charity and support juniors in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” Polsky said.
