Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva, ranked 58th in the world rankings, beat her compatriot Lyudmila Samsonova, ranked 15th in the WTA rankings, at the WTA-500 tournament in Brisbane (Australia). This victory was the fourth for the 16-year-old Russian against athletes in the top 20 of the world rankings.
In the previous season, Andreeva also defeated three tennis players from the top 20 of the WTA rankings, including Brazilian Beatrice Haddad-Maia (14), Polish athlete Magda Linett (19) and representative of the Czech Republic Barbora Krejcikova (11 ).
