Athletistic/Tennis. Rafael Nadal returned to the ATP Tour after a serious injury and has already won two matches at the season-opening tournament in Brisbane. In a rematch of the 2018/19 Roland Garros final, Nadal defeated Thiem in straight sets. After a single break in the first set at 5-5, Nadal lost only one game and finished the match in less than 90 minutes.

The victory moved Nadal to fourth place on the all-time ATP match wins list. Nadal then beat Australian Jason Kubler in the second round and closed in on third-placed Novak Djokovic, who lost to fellow Australian Alex de Minaur and was eliminated along with Serbia from the United Cup. Djokovic is not that far away, but the top two places are out of reach for the Spaniard, who could retire this year. At the same time, Novak himself is unlikely to let himself be caught up, since he himself does not think about ending his career.
