Elina Svitolina reached the semi-finals of the WTA 250 series hard tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian easily defeated the world number 36, Maria Bouzkova from the Czech Republic, in two sets. The match lasted only 66 minutes and ended with a score of 6:0, 6:3 in favor of Svitolina.
This is the fourth meeting between the tennis players. Elina won the three of them. In the semi-finals of the tournament in Auckland, Svitolina will play against Wang Xiyu from China. Having reached the semi-finals, Svitolina will play at this stage of the WTA tournament for the 45th time in her career. So far, Elina has 20 semi-final wins.
