The Ukrainian paired with Danilina from Kazakhstan beat the neutral-Polish duet
Ukrainian tennis player Nadezhda Kichenok successfully started in the doubles tournament WTA 250 in Australian Hobart.
Paired with Anna Danilina from Kazakhstan, the Ukrainian defeated the duet Lydia Morozova / Katarzyna Piter (-/Poland) in two sets.
The fight lasted exactly 100 minutes. The victory was not easy for the Ukrainian-Kazakh tandem. In the first set, Morozova and Peter lost a set point with the score 5:4 in their favor, after which Nadezhda and Anna made a break and then won the whole game – 7:5.
In the second set there was an equally stubborn fight. Now the favorites of the confrontation with the score 5:4 failed to convert the match point. It came down to a tiebreaker, where Kichenok and Danilina won with a clean score – 7:0.
Let us remind you that earlier Nadezhda Kichenok, paired with American Danielle Collins, entered the Australian Open-2024. In addition to her, three more Ukrainians will perform in the doubles of the first major of the year – sister Lyudmila, Angelina Kalinina and Marta Kostyuk.
The Australian Open will take place from January 14 to 28. The tournament qualifications are already in full swing.
