Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awards Wimbledon 2022 champion Elena Rybakina the Order of Friendship, degree II, reports the press service of the Head of State.
Rybakina of Kazakhstan, originally from Moscow, defeated Ons Jaber of Tunisia in the 2022 Wimbledon final on Saturday 3:6, 6:2, 6:2. The tennis player changed sport citizenship in 2018.
– By decree of the President, for outstanding sports achievements and contribution to the development of international cooperation, the athlete-instructor of the state enterprise “Sports Development Directorate” of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rybakina Elena Andreevna was awarded the Order of Dostyk, II degree, the press service said in a message posted on Telegram.
Rybakina is 23 years old. The tennis player has three victories in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) singles tournaments, six times more than the tennis player has played in the final.
