Athletistic / Tennis. Russian Olympic tennis champion Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova said she was bullied on social media after losing in the quarter-finals of the WTA-500 tournament in Adelaide, Australia. The 59th world number at the stage of the 1/4 finals of the competition lost to the fifth racket in the world, the American Jessica Pegula, in three sets with a score of 7:6 (7-1), 5: 7, 4 :6.

Pavlyuchenkova showed on her social media page the angry messages she received after losing the match against Pegula:

  • “Stop tennis, old woman”;
  • “I wish you and your entire family the best”;
  • “How could you miss so many break points today? You suck. You can’t take even one chance. That’s why you’ll never be a better player.”
  • “The natural result of your stupid game.”

“The continuous action that tennis players are forced to face after matches lasting almost three hours. Only positive emotions,” Anastasia quipped.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will begin her performance at the 2024 Australian Open with a match against Croatian Donna Vekic (25th racket in the world). Their meeting will take place on January 15 and will begin at 6 a.m. Moscow time.
