Russian Daria Kasatkina rose from 15th to 13th place in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, a new version of which was published on the organization’s website.
Kasatkina reached the final of the tournament in Adelaide, Australia, where she lost to Latvian Elena Ostapenko, who, in turn, entered the top 10 in the rankings. Kasatkina moves ahead of the remaining 14th place in the ranking Lyudmila Samsonova and became Russia’s number one racketeer.
Another representative from Russia, Veronika Kudermetova, fell to 17th position, Ekaterina Alexandrova rose to 20th. The ranking is led by the Polish Iga Szwiatek.
