Athletistic/Tennis. Russian Tennis Federation President Shamil Tarpishchev has expressed his comments regarding Andrei Rublev’s exit in the second round of the Australian Open. At the start of the tournament, Rublev, 5th in the world, defeated the Brazilian Thiago Wilde (78th in the ATP ranking) only in the fifth set with a score of 7:5, 6:4, 3:6, 4: 6, 7: 6 ( 10:6).

“Rublev did something strange in his match. After the first two sets, a certain confidence appeared. Having lost the first serve, he began to experience difficulty receiving. The opponent took risks and succeeded. He found the courage and built his strategy. “For Rublev, everything could have ended sadly. He could have lost, but he still pulled himself together at the decisive moment. Now it is important to recover and focus on the next round,” Tarpishchev noted in an interview with TASS.

In the next round, Rublev will face the winner of the match between Christopher Eubanks (USA) and Taro Daniel (Japan).
