The official positively assessed the game of Russians and said that a successful performance at Grand Slam tournaments helps to gain confidence.

“Our young people are great, their performance today is a success. Firstly, Grand Slam tournaments give you more points. Secondly, just passing gives you the confidence that you can play with adults. And all the ours played with those, who is higher than them in terms of ranking. And Kotov resisted and succeeded in five sets, well done,” Tarpishchev was quoted as saying by TASS.
