Athletistic / Tennis. The third racket in the world, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, did not start the 2024 season with much confidence. The 27-year-old Russian played his first match of the new year in the first round of the Australian Open.
Medvedev’s opponent was Frenchman Terence Atman, ranked 145th in the ATP rankings and qualified for the main draw of the qualifying tournament. The match was not played to the end, since at the start of the fourth set the 22-year-old Frenchman refused to continue the fight.
The tennis players spent 2 hours and 37 minutes on the court. At the time of Atman’s refusal, the score was 5:7, 6:2, 6:4, 1:0 in favor of Medvedev.
In the second round of the 2024 Australian Open, Daniil Medvedev will play with Finnish tennis player Emil Ruusuvuori.
