Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev is being treated at a clinic in Germany, he will need surgery for a knee injury, Russia’s Honored Coach Vladimir Kamelzon told .
Karatsev suffered an injury in early January, forcing him to withdraw from the Brisbane tournament and miss the Australian Open.
– Karatsev has a serious injury, but now everything is cured. He now lives in Germany, where some of the best doctors work. The knee operation is quite complicated, but I think it will be repaired in Germany.
— Can we say that this season will not count against Aslan?
– He’s a healthy guy! His health, by nature, comes a little before his head. He’s not 40, Aslan is quite a good age. He will always make money, tennis is a job for them. But first Karatsev needs to recover, get back on his feet, and then we will see how he will spend the rest of the season,” Kamelzon told .
Karatsev is a semi-finalist at the 2021 Australian Open and a silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics in mixed doubles. He ranks 39th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings.
