Tunisian tennis player Ons Jabeur shared her expectations from the match against the Russian Mirra Andreeva in the second round of the Australian Open.
On Monday, Andreeva defeated American Bernarda Peru in her first round match at the Australian Open. The match ended with a score of 7:5, 6:2 in favor of the 16-year-old Russian.
– She won? It’s good. I think she plays incredibly well. Yes, it will be a very difficult match. I know she’s 16, but she’s very resilient. I may be her idol, but she probably wants to go ahead and kick my ass.
But of course it’s a great honor to play with her. I’m a big fan of hers, I love her attitude towards the sport. So it will be an incredible match for both of us,” Jabeur said at a press conference.
Now Jabeur is in sixth place in the WTA rankings, Andreeva is 47th. The rivals will meet again on the field on January 17.
