In the first round, Kasatkina defeated American Python Stearns with a score of 6:2, 3:6, 6:2. The duration of the meeting was 1 hour 50 minutes.
Kasatkina will compete with American Sloane Stephens to advance to the third round. The Australian Open runs until January 27.
