Ukrainian tennis players played differently in their matches at the 1/32 finals stage of the tournament.
Lesya Tsurenko is confident to advance to the third round of the Australian Open. In the second round of the main round, the Ukrainian defeated Rebecca Masarova from Spain in two sets. In the next round, Tsurenko will have to face current tournament champion Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus.
Marta Kostyuk also qualified for 1/16. However, her battle with Belgian Elise Mertens turned out to be very difficult. The winner was determined in three sets, and the match itself lasted about three hours. In the third game, the Ukrainian did not take advantage of three implicit match points in the 8th game. In the 12th game, Martha Mertens has a match point on serve.
Awwww, look what that means @marta_kostyuk!
