Tsitsipas needed more than 3.5 hours to beat Australia’s Thompson and advance to the third round of the Australian Open

Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas beat the Australian Jordan Thompson in the second round of the Australian Open, which takes place in Melbourne.

Tsitsipas, seeded seventh, won in four sets with a score of 4:6, 7:6 (8:6), 6:2, 7:6 (7:4). The match lasted 3 hours 39 minutes, in two of the four matches the opponents needed a tiebreaker to determine the strongest.

In his next match, Tsitsipas will face Frenchman Luca van Assche.
