The meeting ended after three sets on a score of 6:4, 3:6, 6:4 in favor of the leader of the WTA ranking.
“My God! I don’t even know what to say. To be honest, in my mind I was already at the airport,” Swiatek said in The Tennis Letter.
During the third set, Iga Swiatek lost to Collins with a score of 2:4, 0-40 on serve. The Pole’s next opponent will be world number 50 Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic.
