Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin congratulated the president of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamilya Tarpishcheva Happy 50th anniversary of coaching
Tarpishchev is an Honored Coach of the USSR and Russia, a member of the International Olympic Committee, the Executive Committee of the Russian Olympic Committee and the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Physical Culture and Sports.
— I sincerely congratulate Shamil Anvyarovich on this important date – the 50th anniversary of coaching. During all these years, his name has been synonymous with national tennis. Under his leadership, the Russian national team has achieved significant success, and Russian tennis players remain at the top of the world rankings. We have won Grand Slam tournaments, Olympic gold medals, the Davis Cup and the Fed Cup, as well as victories in numerous international events. As a competent leader and wise mentor, Shamil Anvyarovich confirms that dedication to one’s work can be limitless and fruitful. I wish him further success in his professional activities and good health,” says Oleg Matytsin’s congratulatory telegram, published by the press service of the Ministry of Sports.
Under Tarpishchev’s leadership, the Russian men’s team became Davis Cup champions three times, and the women’s team won the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly Federation Cup) five times.
For his contribution to the development of the national sports system and the high results of his work, Tarpishchev received high state awards, including the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, IV, III and II degrees, the Order of the friendship and honor.
