Athletistic/Tennis. Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya, ranked 96th in the world, refused to shake hands with Varvara Gracheva, ranked 39th in the WTA and playing for the French team during her second season. Their match at the Australian Open 2024 ended with a score of 6:3, 6:2 in favor of the Ukrainian.

At the end of the second round of the tournament, instead of the traditional handshake, Yastremskaya invited Gracheva to knock rackets.

Recall that Varvara Gracheva completed the procedures for obtaining French citizenship in June last year. She has lived and trained in France since 2016. After obtaining a French passport, she became the French number two, behind only Caroline Garcia, 30, ranked 19th in the world. Previously, Gracheva was the sixth racket of Russia before changing sports citizenship.
