Novak won his 31st consecutive singles victory at the Australian Open. Djokovic became the second tennis player in history to win more than 30 consecutive victories at the Australian Open during the Open era.

This feat was previously achieved only by the American Monica Seles. She won 33 matches in a row at the Australian Open from 1991 to 1999.
