Swimming the first week and men’s football the second: Santiago 2023 announces the dates of its competitions

The organization announced the lineup for the 61 Pan Am disciplines and 18 Parapan Am disciplines, which will meet nationwide beginning in October next year. Likewise, it has been defined that road cycling will cross the streets of Isla de Maipo and Santiago.

Santiago 2023 begins to advance in various aspects for the realization of the Pan American Games, which will take place from October 20 to November 5, 2023 and includes 17 days of competition. During this day, the programming of the 61 conventional competitions and the 18 Paralympics was announced.

Thus, during the first week, in addition to the opening ceremony, sports fans will be able to enjoy the 3×3 basketball, swimming, rowing boxing, marathon and women’s football, among others.

The following week, from October 23 to 29, it will be the turn of 16 other competitions, where viewers can enjoy men’s soccer, tennis, surfing, women’s field hockey and sailing. On the other hand, it was determined that Road cycling will take place on October 29 next year on the streets of Isla de Maipo and Santiago.

Over the final seven days of the Games, another 25 Pan American disciplines will make their debuts, sparking interest in the track and field events of the National Stadium Sports Park.

After the conclusion of the Pan American Games which will take place on November 5, there will be a transition period until the start of the Parapan American Games, with the opening ceremony scheduled for November 17.

The Parapan American Games will take place over 10 days and will start with wheelchair basketball; PC football, judo, among others, where one hopes the enclosures are filled with fans.

”It has been a process of collaboration with different organizations: Panam Sports, the International Paralympic Committee and the Pan American Confederations have worked hard to offer an attractive calendar for everyone, so we invite citizens to follow the sports that interest them the most. As”, said Games executive director Gianna Cunazza.

Santiago 2023 will host 6,909 Pan American athletes and 1,927 Parapan American athletes, who will shine in every competition to Dream, Play and Win in this mega sporting event. Also, in this edition we will have the return of the For archery and the beginnings of three important sports such as sport climbing, skateboarding and breaking.
