Polish tennis player Iga Šwiętekleader of the WTA world rankings, suffered a sensational defeat in the third round Australian Open 2024 from Linda Noskova from the Czech Republic.
Iga won the first set, but then lost two games and allowed the 19-year-old Czech to win a strong-willed victory.
Noskova (No. 50 in the world ranking) is competing in the main draw of the Australian Open for the first time. For the first time in her career, she reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament.
In turn, Swiatek was knocked out of a Grand Slam tournament earlier than the 1/8 finals for only the third time since 2020.
