Russian and Ukrainian tennis players shook hands after the Australian Open junior match

Russian Vlada Minsheva and Ukraine’s Elizaveta Kotlyar thanked each other for the match by shaking hands after the first round match at the Junior Australian Open in Melbourne.

The match ended with the victory of Mincheva with a score of 6:2, 6:4. After the game, the athletes shook hands in front of the net.

Russian and Belarusian tennis players participate in international tournaments with neutral status due to the situation in Ukraine. Ukrainian athletes refused to shake hands with players from these countries after the match.

Previously, the Women’s Tennis Federation (WTA) said that it respected the decision of Ukrainian tennis players.
