Svitolina withdrew from the Australian Open due to injury, Yastremskaya reached the quarterfinals

For Elina, the match ended after three games, and Dayana beat Victoria Azarenka in two sets

The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina finished performing in singles Australian Open 2024.

The Ukrainian withdrew from the fight against 19-year-old Linda Noskova due to a back injury. Even in the first set, with the score 0:2, Elina asked for a medical time-out, but after losing in the next game, Svitolina decided to end the match.

But Elina’s compatriots, Dayana Yastremskaya, managed to break into the top 8 of the Australian Open, beating Victoria Azarenka. The meeting lasted two hours and 10 minutes.

Yastremskaya won the first game in a tiebreak (8:6), and in the second set she managed to leave the score 0:3, scoring two breaks. For Dayana, this is her debut in the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam series tournament.

Yastremskaya will play with Linda Noskova in the quarter finals. Also continuing to perform at the event is Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, who will compete with Coco Gauff (USA) in the quarterfinals.
