Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) Alexei Selivanenko described the Russian’s victory as calm Daniel Medvedev on the Portuguese Nuno Borges in the 1/8 finals of the Australian Open.
On Monday, Medvedev beat Portugal’s Nuno Borges 6:3, 7:6 (7:4), 5:7, 6:1 to reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, where he will meet Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz .
— In the match against Borges, Daniil Medvedev’s advantage was felt. At the end of the third set he lost his concentration and let the set slip away, but overall it was a pretty quiet victory. Hurkac is a difficult opponent. We are in the quarter-finals, so it cannot be otherwise,” Selivanenko was quoted as saying by “Championship”.
The Australian Open will end on January 28.
