The meeting between Yastremskaya and Noskova in the quarterfinals of AO-2024 lasted one hour and 20 minutes
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya commented on her victory over Linda Noskova in the quarterfinals Australian Open.
“It’s nice to make history. I’m very happy to reach my first semi-final. I was a little nervous, but at the same time tired.”
“I think I was a little emotional. I came here and just focused on playing every match, getting better every time. I was working on some things that were a little personal. It was more about my head and how I felt on the court.”
“I didn’t really set myself the goal of making it through the quarterfinals, fourth round, semifinals or anything like that. I was just trying to have fun playing here. I didn’t have any special tactics for today. The most important thing for me was to keep my energy up because I had already played a lot of matches here and played a lot of sets.”
“You feel tired, and that’s normal. The main goal was to just maintain energy and stay positive, even if I made stupid mistakes sometimes. I don’t really pay attention to the ratings of the players I play with because I don’t think it’s that important. Girls, you know, with any rating can show an amazing game.”
“I just did my own thing and focused on myself, on how I play. I think it works,” Diana summed up.
The meeting between Yastremskaya and Noskova lasted one hour and 20 minutes. In the first game, Yastremskaya scored two breaks; in the second set, the Ukrainian managed to take the seventh game on Noskova’s serve.
In the semifinals of the Australian Open, Yastremskaya will play with the winner of the meeting between Anna Kalinskaya and Qin Wen Zheng (China). The second pair of the 1/2 finals was Coco Goff (USA) and Aryna Sabalenka.
