Italian Sinner beat world number one Djokovic at the Australian Open and reached the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career.

Italian tennis player Jannik sinner reached the final of the Australian Open, which took place in Melbourne.

Sinner, who was seeded fourth, defeated world number one Serbia, a ten-time tournament winner, in the semifinals. Novak Djokovic with a score of 6:1, 6:2, 6:7 (6:8), 6:3. The meeting lasted 3 hours 22 minutes.

Sinner has never reached a Grand Slam final before. Djokovic’s 33-match winning streak at the Australian Open was snapped; the Serbian has won the last four Grand Slam tournaments in Australia in which he participated (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023).

In the Australian Open final, Sinner, 22, will play with the winner of the match between Daniil Medvedev (Russia, 3) and Alexander Zverev (Germany, 6).
