Seven-time Grand Slam winner, former world number one John McEnroe believes the length of past Australian Open matches will play a key role in the final between the Russian Daniel Medvedev and Italian Jannik sinner .
The Australian Open final will take place on Sunday and start at 11:30 Moscow time. Earlier in the tournament, Medvedev played three five-set matches. Sinner only lost one set at the Australian Open.
— I have already called Daniil Medvedev a chess master, a brilliant strategist, and in the semi-final he proved it again: he changed gears, began to attack more and serve more.
He did everything to get back into the match. But he played three matches in five sets and Sinner only lost one set. So it would really be surprising if Medvedev could rise to the occasion again, as he is certainly suffering physically. Sinner will be fresh and, in my opinion, that will be the difference between them,” McEnroe said according to Eurosport.
