Medvedev performed another miracle in the semi-final against Alexander Zverev and came back from 0:2 in sets for the second time at this Australian Open. The Russian lost the first two sets, then in the third tiebreaker he was three points from defeat. In the fourth set there was a tie-break again and Zverev was already two points behind with the score 5-5.
Medvedev leveled the score in the match and put the finishing touches on Zverev in the fifth game, securing victory in 4 hours 18 minutes.

Medvedev won the first 6 matches against Sinner, but lost the last three, including two finals and all in 2023. Medvedev’s third loss came in the semi-finals of the 2023 ATP Finals tournament.
