Former Australian World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, located in Newport, United States, according to the ATP website.
– As a player, I never thought of entering the Hall of Fame, it always seemed to me that it was for people who were my childhood idols and absolute legends of the sport.
I had the chance to play with representatives of different generations. I could be on the same court with heroes I looked up to like Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras and then go on to face three of the greatest tennis players our sport has ever known: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic,” said declared 41 year old tennis player
Hewitt is a two-time Grand Slam winner, having won the US Open 2001 and Wimbledon 2002, with a total of 30 ATP singles wins. As part of the Australian national team, he twice became Davis Cup champion, and in 2001 – the youngest first racket in the world at the age of 20.
