Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova defeated the Italian Sarah Errani in the first round of the WTA 500 tournament in Linz, Austria.
Potapova, who received the fifth seed, defeated her opponent with a score of 6:4, 6:3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 22 minutes.
Potapova is the current champion of the Linz tournament, Errani, 36, is the former fifth racket in the world in singles.
The Russian’s next opponent will be another representative of Italy, Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
