Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova wished the Latvian success Elena Ostapenko this season after losing to her in the final of the tournament in Linz, Austria.
The match ended 6:2, 6:3 in favor of Ostapenko, who won her eighth WTA singles title.
“I want to congratulate Elena on her incredible performance this week, she did a great job.” I want to wish him the best for the season. I promise it will be better next time,” Alexandrova said in an on-court interview after the match.
Alexandrova won four WTA singles tournaments and reached the final four more times. The 29-year-old Russian is 21st in the world rankings.
