Kazakh tennis player Alexander Bublik became the first player to win the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) title by losing the first set of each match of the tournament, reports the ATP press service.
On Sunday, Bublik won the tournament in Montpellier (France). In the final, the Kazakh beat Croatian Borna Coric with a score of 5:7, 6:2, 6:3.
In the second round, Bublik defeated Canadian Denis Shapovalov, in the quarterfinals – his compatriot Alexander Shevchenko, in the semifinals – Canadian Felix Auger-Alassime. Bublik won each match 2-1 in straight sets.
For Bublik, 26, this is his fourth ATP tournament title. He ranks 27th in the world rankings.
