Third racket of the world Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev joined the European team for the Laver Cup, according to the tournament website.
Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and German Alexander Zverev will also play for the European team, with the team captain being Bjorn Borg.
“For me, the most exciting thing about the Laver Cup is the team spirit, because I very rarely get the opportunity to participate in team tennis competitions. Having Carlos and Sasha in the team will help a lot because they are two of the best players in the world and I am very happy to try to get Team Europe back on track,” said the 27-year-old Russian.
The Laver Cup 2024 will be held in September in Berlin, with the European team competing against the global team.
