Russian Avanesyan refused to fight in the 1/8 finals of the tennis tournament in Romania

Russian tennis player Elina Avanesian failed to reach the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 tournament in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca.

In the second round, Avanesyan, who received the sixth seed, met the 656th world racket Anastasia Sevastova from Latvia. The Russian refused to fight any further as the score was 2:6, 7:6 (7:5), 0:2.

In the next round, Sevastova’s opponent will be the winner of the match between Clara Toson (Denmark) and Jacqueline Christian (Romania).
