Russian tennis player Lyudmila Samsonova failed to qualify for the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Doha.
In the first round, 12th seed Samsonova was defeated by Canadian Leila Fernandez with a score of 5:7, 6:7 (4:7). The athletes spent 2 hours and 10 minutes on the field.
Last week, Samsonova reached the semi-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Abu Dhabi.
In the next round, Fernandez will face Spaniard Paula Badosa.
