The Ukrainian and her partner won both sets in tiebreaker
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina in a match with a dramatic plot, she managed to reach the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament WTA 1000 in the capital of Qatar Doha.
Performing in tandem with a Chinese woman Xu YifanAngelina managed to break the duo’s resistance Sofia Kenin / Arancha Rus (USA/Netherlands). The fight lasted almost two hours.
In the first set, Kalinina and Xu led 4:2, but in the end it came to a tiebreaker, where Angelina and her partner were stronger – 7:3. In the second game, Kenin and Rus were leading 4:2, but with the score 6:5 they missed a set point. As a result, there was a tie-break again, and again the success of the Ukrainian and Chinese (7:2).
In the quarter finals, Kalinina and Xu Yifan will compete with Ekaterina Alexandrova and Irina Khromacheva, who compete without flags.
Angelina is the last representative of Ukraine at the Qatar tournament. Previously, she was eliminated by Elena Ostapenko in singles, and her compatriots Marta Kostyuk and Lesya Tsurenko were forced to withdraw due to health problems.
