Lesya lost to Briton Boulter in two sets
Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko lost to the British Katie Boulter in the first round of the tournament WTA 500 in American San Diego.
The Ukrainian played for the first time after an injury, which forced her to withdraw from the third round match of the tournament in Doha (Qatar) against Japanese Naomi Osaka, and then to miss the tournament in Dubai (UAE).
Tsurenko could not compete with Bulter, who is in the top 50 of the world rankings. In the first set, she was able to make one break, but in return she lost three of her serves. In the second game, Lesya managed to take only one game.
Also performing at the tournament in San Diego are Marta Kostyuk, who won against American Ann Lee, and Dayana Yastremskaya, who will play her opening match on the night of February 28.
