The prestigious women’s tennis competition of the WTA 500 series has started in California.
Marta Kostyuk started her performance at the WTA 500 hard tournament in San Diego, America, with success. In the first round of the competition, the Ukrainian, with the sixth seed, defeated the owner of the courts, Ann Lee, in a difficult confrontation. The American, who was included in the base due to qualification, gave a real fight, losing only three sets in 2 hours 13 minutes.
Meanwhile, Lesya Tsurenko was unable to maintain her favorite status in her match. In the first round, the Ukrainian lost to Katie Boulter from Great Britain. The match lasted only 1 hour 12 minutes and ended in two sets. This is the fourth meeting between the tennis players, the Ukrainian leading 3:1.
