Ukrainian tennis player Nadezhda Kichenok continued her successful performances in doubles at the tournament WTA 250 V Austin (USA).
Paired with Oksana Kalashnikova, representing Georgia, Nadezhda won a strong-willed victory over another Ukrainian in the 1/4 finals – Sabina Zeynalovaperforming in a duet with Australian Maya Joynt.
20-year-old Zeynalova and 17-year-old Joynt won the first set against their opponents, seeded number one. However, in the second game, Nadezhda and Oksana took revenge with the same score of 6:3, and in the final shootout they converted the match point on the third attempt – 11:9.
The Kichenok/Kalashnikova tandem made it to their debut semi-final. In it, their rivals will be Katarzyna Kawa (Poland) and Bibiana Schofs (Netherlands).
Let us remind you that Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina will also perform in the singles semifinals of the tournament in Austin. Her opponent is Chinese Wang Xu.
