Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk reached the final of the tournament WTA 500 in American San Diego.
Marta beat world number five Jessica Pegula from the USA in the semi-finals. The two-set match lasted just over an hour and a half.
The Ukrainian started the match hard and lost 1:5 in the first game. However, she bounced back and snatched a victory in the set in a tiebreaker. Out of courage, Marta did not leave the first racket of the tournament a chance in the second game, giving up only one game.
Let us remind you that in the first round Kostyuk beat American Ann Lee, then passed Tayla Preston from Australia, and beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarterfinals. In the final, the Ukrainian’s opponent will be Briton Katie Boulter, who beat Lesya Tsurenko in the first round of the tournament in San Diego.
