Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal called a compatriot Carlos Alcaraz an extraordinary player and noted that he was happy to have rare joint matches.
On Sunday, Nadal lost to Alcaraz in an exhibition match in Las Vegas with a score of 6:3, 4:6, 12:14.
“It’s good that as a player I don’t see him often, but as a fan I will enjoy watching him for many years to come. In Spain we should be very happy to have a man like Carlos. He’s an incredible player. He is only 20 years old, but he has already won two Grand Slam tournaments,” Nadal, 37, said, according to Reuters.
Nadal almost completely missed the 2023 season, playing only four matches. He is a 22-time Grand Slam singles champion. Alcaraz is 20 years old, he ranks second in the ATP rankings and is a 12-time winner of tournaments under the auspices of the organization.
