Last week, Rublev was disqualified in his semi-final against Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik. According to the rules, Rublev had to lose all points and prize money from the tournament, as well as leave the top 5 of the ATP rankings. However, the appeal commission decided to keep Rublev’s points for the semi-finals and prize money for his participation in the tournament.
“Great decision by the committee! Andrey is one of the nicest guys in the tennis world, but sometimes emotions take over on the court. We are constantly learning,” Becker wrote on his social media profile.
