Russian tennis player Natalia Vikhlyantseva said she had received an offer to compete for another country.
— At one point I was offered to play for another country, but I turned it down. When I got up [этот] question, so, without hesitation, I remained faithful to my positions. That year, the coach asked me if I regretted it. She said no. Russia is my home,” Vikhlyantseva said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
Vikhlyantseva is the winner of three ITF tournaments (two singles and one doubles). The 27-year-old’s highest position in the WTA rankings was 54th, which she held in October 2017.
