Athletistic/Tennis. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced the decision to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the Paris Olympic Games with a neutral status, as stated in a statement published on the organization’s official website.

The statement noted that neutral participants will have to meet the selection criteria set out in the ITF regulations.

“The ITF’s decision is in line with the views of the majority of international federations regarding the participation of athletes in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris,” the statement said.

According to the Kommersant newspaper, this decision applies not only to singles, but also to three doubles categories: men’s, women’s and mixed.

Qualification for the Olympic Games will be based on the rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), which will be published on June 10. According to the rules, each country can field a maximum of four players in singles competitions.
