Spanish tennis player, world number 73 Paula Badosa withdrew from the Masters Series tournament in Indian Wells (USA).
In the first round match, Badosa, who received a wild card from the organizers, was scheduled to face American Ashlyn Kruger, ranked 71st in the WTA rankings.
— I’m really sorry to have to refuse to participate in my favorite tournament. I tried everything to play, but it wasn’t enough. “I’m going through a very difficult time because of my injury, but I’m fighting every day to come back as quickly as possible,” the Spaniard wrote on a social network.
Previously, Badosa participated in an exhibition tournament in mixed doubles, where she reached the final with Stefanos Tsitsipas.
