The Ukrainian tennis player has difficulty psychologically dealing with the representatives of the aggressor country.

Marta Kostyuk spoke about her fights against opponents with Belarusian and Russian passports. The Ukrainian tennis player admitted that it was very difficult for him to go to the court against the representatives of the aggressor countries.

This is especially noticeable at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of terrorist troops in Ukraine.

“I never shook hands with any of them. My first match was against the Russian pair Veronika Kudermetova – Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova at the WTA tournament in Rome.

I’m sick of that fight! I just want to throw the ball at their head. Everything else I’m not interested in. They played well and eventually won the tournament. I felt so bad that I called the physio on the court and said I couldn’t play or breathe. They just brought me. I didn’t shake hands with them.

My next match is against Belarusian Victoria Azarenka at the US Open. There was a lot of tension before the match. Everyone was waiting to see if I would shake his hand. As a result, after the game we “hit” the rackets. Honestly, I regret now that I even did it.

That’s why Vika was the first racket in the world, won the Grand Slam tournaments, a legend, etc. He is a great authority for me. Athletic, not human, of course.

Some days I felt like the whole world was against me. A lot of all kinds of slag and hate was poured on me.

Yes, even now, when I play a match against a Russian or a Belarusian, I get at least 20 messages saying that I melt like this. They wrote like: “Rashka, forward!” Rashka lovers are furious that I allowed myself to do this, I don’t shake hands and seem to mix sport with politics,” Kostyuk was quoted as saying by sport-express.ua.

We remind you that earlier it became known that Russian tennis players are allowed to participate in the Olympics and Paralympics.
