Blinkova beat world number five Pegula in second round of Indian Wells tournament

Anna, Russian tennis player Blinkova reached the third round of the tournament in Indian Wells (USA).

In the second round, the Russian defeated the fifth racket in the world, the American Jessica Pegula, with a score of 6:2, 3:6, 6:3. The meeting lasted more than two hours.

Blinkova’s next opponent will be Frenchwoman Diane Parry.

Other Russian representatives Diana Schneider and Lyudmila Samsonova finished their fight at the tournament. Schneider lost to the ninth seed of Greece Maria Sakkari (7:5, 4:6, 0:6), and Samsonova (14th seed) was defeated by the Japanese Naomi Osaka – 5:7, 3: 6.
