Athletistic / Tennis. President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFT) Shamil Tarpishchev said that the fifth racket in the world, Russian Andrei Rublev, lost in the third round of the Masters series in Indian Wells (USA) due to the fatigue and intense physical exertion. On March 11, Rublev lost to Czech Jiri Legechka in straight sets with a score of 4:6, 4:6.
“Rublev is now emotionally emasculated. Against the background of intense physical exertion and a large number of difficult matches, it drowns you. When you do a lot of work, it is difficult for you to play cleanly. That’s why Andrei finished his performance in Indian Wells so early. Now Rublev just needs to recover,” Tarpishchev was quoted as saying by TASS.
Andrey Rublev has won 15 ATP singles tournaments during his career, including one Masters. He has never made it past the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam tournament. Together with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Rublev became Olympic champion at the 2020 Games in Tokyo (Japan) in mixed doubles.
The next tournament in which Andrei Rublev participated was the Masters in Miami (Florida, USA).
