Athletistic/Tennis. The world’s fourth racket Daniil Medvedev will face Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round of the Masters at Indian Wells 2024.

Medvedev scored a standard 6-2, 6-3 victory over Roberto Carballes Baena and advanced to the third round, where 29th seed Sebastian Korda awaited him and he lost his last two matches against the American .

Medvedev started well, with an early break allowing him to increase the lead to 3-1 in the first set. Then both players made two breaks in a row, and the Russian took a 5-3 lead and then closed the set. It was the same in the second game, with four breaks in a row in the middle. Later, Medvedev served 5-6 for the tiebreaker, but Korda managed to break and win the second set.

The third set followed the same pattern: the tennis players took serve again, this time five times in a row. Medvedev had more success and led 4-3 before stealing the next two games to win the match 6-4, 5-7, 6-3.

Grigor Dimitrov beat Alexander Muller 7-5, 6-2, then faced another Frenchman, 21st-seeded Adrian Mannarine, in the third round. The Bulgarian immediately got to work and quickly led 4-1. Grigor won the first set and then continued to dictate the course of play in the second game. The Bulgarian has won five of the last six matches, 6-3, 6-3.

In personal meetings, Medvedev defeats Dimitrov with a score of 6-3. The Bulgarian won his previous match at the 2023 Paris Masters in three sets.

Predictions for the match between Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov

Medvedev beat Korda in the last match, but the Russian was far from the best on the court. He was very vulnerable on serve: he committed 10 double faults and only scored 42% of the points on his second serve.

On the contrary, for Dimitrov, everything went well. He scored 88% and 74% of his first and second service points, respectively. Despite losing to Medvedev in head-to-head matches, he won their last match, as well as the previous fight in Indian Wells in 2021.

Medvedev will need to cut down on his mistakes and improve his stats if he wants to beat Dimitrov again. Considering how they played this week, the Bulgarian will pose problems for Daniil, the match could go into the third set, where everyone can win. A fight is expected in each game, there may be more than 30 games in the game.

Forecast: Daniil Medvedev will win in three sets.
